ADVANCED EMT PROGRAM AT A GLANCE
Over 240 hours of Didactic, Skills Training + Clinical Ride-Along Time at local hospitals and EMS agencies.
Advanced Emergency Medical Technicians provide a higher level of patient care, including advanced airway techniques, a greater variety of medication treatments, and cardiac rhythm interpretation. The advanced scope of practice of AEMTs and Paramedics requires a greater depth of understanding of anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology. The Advanced EMT program prepares students to be pre-hospital professionals who provide basic and limited advanced emergency care for critical and emergent patients. The program helps students build upon their EMT knowledge in anatomy and physiology, medical emergency, cardiology and trauma.
